The Black Watch Regiment was previously known as the Highlanders 42nd Regiment. The Black Watch Regiment was the first Regular Force infantry unit based at CFB Gagetown. The Black Watch are of Scottish decent and settled around the Nashwaaksis region. The Black Watch Regiment later became a regular infantry regiment, which served in the First and Second World Wars, in Korea, and in many UN peacekeeping missions. It was disbanded in 1969. However, there is still a Black Watch reserve unit stationed in Montréal. Their Kilts were huge and could be used to make a tent should the need arise. |
